European Heritage Days’19
European Heritage Days’19 (EHD) invite you to have fun discovering the cultural heritage! Events (cognitive walks, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, hiking, hide and seek games, etc.) for different age groups will be held during September 20-22, 2019. Everyone will have an opportunity to discover, perhaps, for some yet not discovered cultural heritage. Each year in September during the European Heritage Days Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency organizes events in Vilnius. 4 cognitive walks were organised in 2018. 2 walks took place in historical Bernardinai and Rasos Cemeteries, and the other 2 walks were presented by archaeologist who told about the oldest historical layers of Vilnius. 2 excursions „Vilnius Cultural Landscape“ for older and disabled persons took place in 2017.
The agency organises 4 EHD events in 2019 m.
September 20, at 16.00 the Brain game „Vilnius Old Town – 25 years in UNESCO World Heritage List“ designed for children of Vilnius schools (for 9 – 12 classes) will be held at the hall of the Agency (Stiklių St. 4). Registration of school children: by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
September 21, at 17.30 the Organ Concert will take place at St. Casimir Church (Didzioji St. 34). Prof. Leopoldas Digrys will play pieces by J.S. Bach, T. Albinoni, C. Franck, G. Fauré and C. M. Widor. He will tell about the historical organ and will demonstrate the instrument for public after the concert.
September 22, at 13.30 the excursion by Dr. Liudas Jovaisa takes place at St. Casimir Church (Didzioji St. 34). The Organ Concert performed by Jarune Barkauskaite will take place after the excursion. At 15.30 the same excursion and the concert will be held for disabled people (members of Vilnius Society of disabled persons).
All events of EHD are part of the Project „Heritage speaks for generations“, supported by the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
