The Vilnius Fine Crafts, Ethnographic Trades, and Fairs Programme, operating for over 20 years and established by the Vilnius City Municipality, nurtures these crafts in the historic city centre. Artisan galleries and workshops offer free craft demonstrations, educational activities, practical training for students, social projects, and exhibitions. Craftspeople participate in annual European Fine Crafts Days, the St. Bartholomew Fair, and the Kaziukas Fair, and also lead educational activities within the "Culture Passport" programme.
In 2021, the City Council approved the continuation and implementation of the Crafts Programme until 2030. The updated programme aims to creatively reinterpret traditional crafts and involve the public, especially young people, even more. A key ongoing activity is participation in major city festivals. The Programme is coordinated by the Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency.
By 2024, eleven craft workshops and galleries will be available for residents and visitors.

List of the galleries workshops.

More (the Archive page)

Traditional crafts are an important part of Vilnius’ intangible cultural heritage, bringing vitality to the city’s cultural life.
