{"id":6807,"date":"2020-05-28T13:01:31","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T13:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vsaa.lt\/?p=6807"},"modified":"2022-02-28T07:16:09","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T07:16:09","slug":"unesco-world-heritage-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vsaa.lt\/en\/news-cat\/unesco-world-heritage-year\/","title":{"rendered":"UNESCO World Heritage Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2020 has been declared <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"https:\/\/lrkm.lrv.lt\/en\/news\/year-of-unesco-world-heritage-in-lithuania-to-be-marked-in-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the year of UNESCO World Heritage in Lithuania<\/a><\/span> in order to highlight the significance of Lithuania\u2019s cultural heritage sites included on the World Heritage List. The year\u2019s programme includes a variety of cultural, educational, and instructional activities. Activities planned by Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency are:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vsaa.lt\/index.php\/exhibition-vilnius-unesco-25-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The exhibition \u201cPreservation and Maintenance of Vilnius Old Town 1994 \u2013 2019\u201d<\/a><\/span> (in LT and EN), dedicated to the 25th anniversary since Vilnius being included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. During January \u2013 February 2020 the exhibition was presented at Vilnius Academy of Arts and at the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. It is planned to present the exhibition&nbsp; at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Kedainiai Municipality, Riga and Tallinn cities after the COVID 19 quarantine is finished.<\/p>\n<p>Series of <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vsaa.lt\/index.php\/virtual-educational-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual educational stories<\/a><\/span> and short <span style=\"color: #800000;\">video for children<\/span> about Vilnius cultural heritage was created to replace the real thematic walks.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency gave <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=o_oj11ITRLw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an interview dedicated to Vilnius Historic Centre<\/a><\/span> during TV broadcast of the Lithuanian National Library<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vsaa.lt\/index.php\/nordic-culture-point-awarded-our-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The project \u201eAdvancement of UNESCO World Heritage sites\u2019 maintenance in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn\u201c<\/a><\/span> funded by Nordic Culture Point will be implemented during May 2020 \u2013&nbsp; May 2021. The main objective of the project is to develop an open cross-city data and cooperation platform, reflecting a comparative state of affairs and advancement in maintenance of three historic cities: Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius \u2013 UNESCO World Heritage sites.<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201eManual for owners of Vilnius heritage properties\u201c<\/span> is under preparation.
