There he had a dream; and there the first wooden Vilnius town was developed. These hills (<span style=\"color: #800000;\">Kaln\u0173 parkas<\/span>) is our <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Akropolis<\/span>&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #800000;\">(a<em>ncient Greek: \u1f00\u03ba\u03c1\u03cc\u03c0\u03bf\u03bb\u03b9\u03c2<\/em><\/span>) \u2013 the citadel built upon&nbsp;a hill.<\/p>\n<p>Ancient cities always were built in suitable for defense areas, difficult to access for enemies. Kalnu Parkas is not easy to access even today; but it is worth to try to discover its secret beauty.<\/p>\n<p>The Concerts\u2018 stage was built in Vingio Park according to the project of Estonian architect in 1960; The amphitheater in Kaln\u0173 Parkas was built for the Songs Festival in 1970. Main concerts of <span style=\"color: #800000;\">the March of Rock<\/span> (Rock music festival) were held also on this stage in 1987 and 1989. Now the amphitheater of Kaln\u0173 Parkas is under renovation for the upcoming <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Baltic students\u2018 festival of songs and dances Gaudeamus\u201c<\/span> which will take place in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to feel the spirit of Vilnius Old Town, &#8211; have a birds\u2018 eye view from t<span style=\"color: #800000;\">he hills of Three Crosses, Stalo and Altana<\/span>. You would realize exceptional value of Vilnius cityscape which medieval urban network is surrounded by green hills and valleys.
