Monitoring

The Agency started the monitoring of protected immovable cultural heritage properties in 2010, according to the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of UNESCO World Heritage Convention. There are approximately 300 objects examined, photo fixations done, acts of examination prepared, documents of their former status digitalised. The work is implemented according to the Lithuanian Law of Immovable Cultural Heritage Property and orders of the Lithuanian Minister of Culture. It is possible to see the monitoring database which is open for public.

Monitoring of valuable attributes of Vilnius Old Town started in 2016. Photo fixation of panoramic views from Pilies (Castle), Triju Kryziu (Three Crosses) and Bekesho hills and sightseeing points from Subachiaus – Maironio crossroad and from the St. Johns‘ Belfry is implemented. Photo fixation of architectural elements of authentic buildings, streets and public areas started, the monitoring of physical status of streets and yards will start soon. The Agency informs the municipal Division of Cultural Heritage Protection and the State Department of Cultural Heritage if there are some possibly illegal construction works in the cultural heritage properties.
