The 3rd Joint Interregional Session of Innocrafts project in Vilnius: “SMEs internationalization, professional networking and information exchange”

The Innocrafts project, co-financed in the framework of the Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC, by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, comes to present the most significative experiences realized by the partners of the project on the theme of SMEs internationalization, professional networking and information exchange.

The overall objective of the INNOCRAFTS project is to promote entrepreneurship and business creation in the artistic and contemporary crafts sector by improving the effectiveness of regional and local development policies through sharing and exchanging good practices
and experiences.

During the previous interregional workshops held in Reims (FR), Barcelona (ES), Budapest (HU) and Turku (FI), were presented the first two guidelines centered on business models and support services and access to innovation, design and financial assistance to SMEs. The 3rd Joint Interregional Session that will be organized on October 2nd, 2013 in Vilnius (LT) will be dedicated to opportunities that SMEs in the artistic and contemporary crafts sector can exploit for their internationalization, the professional networking and the information exchange.

The theme presented in Vilnius underlines the importance of building strong relationships in the current economic phase characterized by the tendency to develop productions on markets often distant and separated from local ones.

Networking makes possible to overcome uncertainties related to information, safety of distant transactions, possibilities of funding since the corresponding members benefit from their mutual recognition. The network can also support the circulation of the information in various directions, the notoriety of the participants on distant and foreign markets. It also makes costs of transactions sharing possible. For these reasons networks support sustainability as far as they are able to maintain the reputation and the quality of the services offered.
